DESCRIPTION:AN ECONOMIC UPDATE WITH HYPOSWISS PRIVATE BANK – WEDNESDAY MARCH 5TH 2025\nThe economic environment of the past two years has been characterized by “US Exceptionalism”. The US Economy achieved better growth\, higher productivity and more progress in corporate profits than the rest of the world.\nWe will look at the factors underpinning this divergent performance and discuss the possible influence of the policies pursued by the newly emboldened Trump administration (deregulation\, tariffs\, fiscal policy) going forward.\nWe will end with a few recommendations on the construction of investement portfolios and offer some thoughts on the role of crypto assets and generative AI related investement in this context.\nSpeakers:\nStephan Lawi is Chief Investment Officer (CIO) since 2021. Following a postdoctoral research assignement in Probability Theory in Paris (CNRS)\, he left academia to work as a “Quant” for several Investment Banks in London then in Hong Kong.
